About John
As a photographer, John Freeman’s passion is Gigapixel "Ultra Large - Ultra High Resolution" Wall Mural sized Fine Art Photos that capture the beauty of God's creation. John’s photos are among the World’s Highest Resolution Images in the Landscape Nature Photography Realm. He has coined these images Gigaramas. Gigapixel images are images with at least 1 Billion pixels which is 20X higher resolution than the best high end full frame DSLR or mirrorless cameras. Images of this type of resolution provide incredible detail even at wall mural sizes. The majority of John’s photos range from 1 to 10 Gigapixel in their original size or larger.
Having been doing photography for over 60 years, John started doing the "Gigarama" style photos in 2010 and is one of a handful of photographers, worldwide, that have the knowledge, skill and experience needed to capture these immense images. Some of his photos have been published in "Landscape Photography Magazine", a digital magazine featuring landscape photographers from around the world. His work varies from landscape, wildlife, night photography and more recently, Deep Space Photography.
